At my core, I see myself as a creative mind who finds inspiration from exploring and teaching. I enjoy working with many facets of media, both digital and analog, and genuine problem solving.
Following my knack, and love, for teaching and learning I have established a professional base at Northeastern University, where I’ve been since 1996.
As the Web Services Manager and Multimedia Designer at Northeastern’s Educational Technology Center I have been an integral part the design, development, production, and assessment of a wide variety of projects. From grant-funded, media-rich websites to flash based games designed for specific goals such as funding retirement, or teaching scientific principles, to presenting on accessibility concerns and web development my work has reached many individuals both in and well out of the academic arena.
As Adjunct Faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences in the Department of Art+Design, as well as the School of Professional Studies, in a number of departments and graduate programs, and for Northeastern Online I’ve been asked to design, develop and teach numerous courses and workshops on a wide variety of topics. Ergo, I find myself to be capable and comfortable leading discussions and courses in topics from design fundamentals and teaching goals to media creation, content development and programming.
Venturing out of the academic arena I also choose freelance consulting projects that appeal to my philanthropic side. I have worked with clients including the HRC, Fortune Magazine, MassRID, as well as local and national artists.
In my “spare time” – if there is such a thing – I’m currently enjoying a 1-5x macro lens on my Canon 5d mark ii. The world looks so different, yet so systematically similar, at the macro scale.
